Invitation to join the PARMS EPR Program

PARMS About Us.PNG

The Philippine Alliance for Recycling and Materials Sustainability (PARMS) is a non-stock, non-profit organization that was established in 2014. It is a coalition of businesses, government agencies, and civil society organizations that are committed to promoting sustainable waste management in the Philippines.

PARMS's mission is to "develop and implement a holistic and comprehensive program to increase resource recovery and reduce landfill dependence towards Zero Waste." It does this by working with its members to develop and implement sustainable waste management projects, advocate for policies that support sustainable waste management, and educate the public about the importance of sustainable waste management. (Learn more about PARMS)

PARMS is a leading voice in the Philippine waste management landscape. It has been instrumental in the passage of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Law of the Philippines, which is a landmark law that requires producers of plastic packaging to take responsibility for the collection, recycling, and disposal of their products at the end of their life.  The law took effect last August 12, 2022. It applies to large enterprises (brand owners, producers, importers) with total assets of more than ₱100 million (exclusive of land) that produce plastic packaging. These large enterprises or Obliged Enterprises (OEs) are required to establish or phase-in EPR programs for plastic packaging within six months of the law's effectivity. (Learn more about EPR Law)

In line with these developments, we invite your esteemed organization to contribute to our mission by joining the EPR program as an Obliged Enterprise or a Volunteer Entity. Your participation will be integral in lessening the environmental footprint of consumer products, promoting recycling and reuse, and fostering a circular economy.
