About The Event

The Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia's Regional Knowledge Centre for Marine Plastic Debris (ERIA RKC-MPD) in partnership with the Philippine Alliance for Recycling and Materials Sustainability (PARMS) is organizing a hybrid event that serves as a venue for private companies to showcase their business initiatives that contribute to the reduction of (marine) plastic waste and how it can help with the EPR targets as well as the mainstream circular economy (CE) and sustainable consumption and production (SCP) initiatives.

The event will be streamed live and is expected to have participants from the ASEAN + 3 region including China, South Korea, and Japan. Participants will come from the public and private sectors, academia, international organizations, and civil society. The event will be recorded and posted publicly. The webinar will last 2.5 hours via the Zoom platform.

As one of the leading organizations committed to closing the loop of plastic waste in the Philippines, PARMS will continue to actively engage with all stakeholders across the supply and waste value chain together with the government as we move forward with the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in our country towards our ambitious vision to reach Zero Waste to Nature by 2030.

ERIA's Regional Knowledge Centre for Marine Plastic Debris launched the online Private Sector Platform (PSP) to promote private companies whose business activities help combat (marine) plastic waste. This online interface hosts information submitted by private companies operating in all ASEAN+3 countries to showcase their products, services, or technologies contributing to the reduction of plastic waste and marine plastic debris. The platform provides companies an opportunity to be promoted widely through the RKC-MPD website and social media pages.
